If you’ve got a goal or a dream that’s on hold, I’d like to ask you a personal question: What’s holding you back? That is, what is standing between you and doing that thing you want to do?
Maybe you know what you want but you don’t know how to do it. Is that it? You know you want to build an online business, but you don’t know how. Or you want to write a book, but you don’t know where to begin.
If that’s not it, then let’s backtrack a moment – could it be that you don’t know WHAT to do? This could mean two different things: It could mean that you don’t know what you want, or it could mean that you do know the outcome you want but you don’t know the first step, which really falls back into the scenario of not knowing HOW to do it.
So let’s be clear: First you’ve got to know what you want, and next you’ve got to know how to do or get what you want.
Now if you already know both of these things, then obviously they’re not what’s holding you back. Maybe you don’t have the resources to accomplish what you want to accomplish, is that it?
Because if you know what you want, and you know how to go about getting it, and you have the resources to do it, then there’s only one possibility left:
Afraid of taking action, or moving forward, or of what might happen, or of what might not happen.
You see, once you know what is holding you back, then you can deal with it. After all, being stuck isn’t reality, it’s simply a way of thinking. Change your thinking and you can move forward.
